[166/365] Promotion

If you want to promote your business then a flier is a highly effective tool that can give you a lot of exposure. Essentially the idea behind a flier is that you have a glossy piece of paper that is going to serve as a short advertisement for your business. It will no doubt include information, contact details and images to help sell your company and inform those potential leads of your terms and the reasons they should pick you over your competition.

Think of these fliers as miniature websites but where you only have one page. If you were going to make a one page site for your company – what would it say? It needs to grab attention, tell the reader what it’s about and then quickly give them a way to get in touch or to get more information. This needs to act fast, because as soon as they put down your flier you have lost them and they are unlikely to follow up on it.

One great technique to use these days is to use an AR code. These are like bar codes that someone can scan with their smartphones which will automatically link them to your chosen URL (normally your website). They’re highly useful for getting people to act fast and for providing more information than you can fit on one A5 page. [click to continue…]

Sales of the desktop PC have been on the gradual decline since 2008, and it seems to make sense. We’re in the age of the coffee shop worker. The desire that people have to work, access emails, news and entertainment while on the fly, has led to an explosion in mobile devices and laptops. They can take them just about anywhere, and they keep getting better, and more feature-rich. [click to continue…]
